HIVA · 海娃

Does not meet 2 of this site’s four inclusion criteria, so it is not in the catalogue.

Vendor claim

This is a statement about what this site lists, not about the product. The criteria are deliberately narrow (multi-purpose home robots that physically handle objects and adapt to what they find), and a robot can be excellent and still sit outside them. The criteria in full.

Criteria it does not meet

  • AI-driven autonomy

    Not met

Copes with unscripted variation within a task: it perceives what is actually there and adapts, rather than replaying a fixed motion sequence. How a task is started is not part of this test.

No vendor statement found describing the underlying model or how tasks are given. A gate that cannot be evidenced does not pass.

Evidence:no source: nothing was found either way

  • Credible home path

    Not met

Targets domestic use, and has a public price, preorder or announced release window. Pure research demos are excluded.

No price, date, region or preorder mechanism found anywhere. Vendor's own wording is forward-looking and non-committal ("will continue to optimise function and performance and expand smart-home service scenarios") -- announced/demonstrated only, at AWE and WRC 2026 trade shows.

    Evidence: 1. Haier

Criteria it does meet

Stated as plainly as the ones above. These are not consolation: they are part of the record, and on some of these pages the evidence here is stronger than anything in the catalogue.

  • Multi-task by design

    Met

Performs two or more distinct household task types. Not a single-purpose appliance, and not one task described several ways.

Vendor material describes end-to-end laundry, kitchen/food-handling tasks (fridge, food expiry, banana peeling) and a home-assistant role -- multiple distinct types.

Evidence: 1. Haier, 2. World Robot Conference (exhibitor listing)

  • Physical manipulation

    Met

Has arms, grippers or manipulators, and can pick up, move or handle objects.

Vendor states force-controlled fridge-door opening and banana-peeling, and an operating range from floor level to over 2m.

    Evidence: 1. Haier

What would change this

Would qualify if Haier publishes any price, preorder or release-window commitment for HIVA, and states how the robot is tasked or what model drives it.

Records are re-checked as the field moves. A robot that meets all four criteria later moves into the catalogue.

Everything on this page traces to one of these. Agents read sources in any language; a claim taken from a non-English source is translated and the original link kept. “Retrieved” is when we last read the page; “published” is the source’s own date, where it states one.
