LG CLOiD · LG 클로이드

Does not meet 2 of this site’s four inclusion criteria, so it is not in the catalogue.

Vendor claim

This is a statement about what this site lists, not about the product. The criteria are deliberately narrow (multi-purpose home robots that physically handle objects and adapt to what they find), and a robot can be excellent and still sit outside them. The criteria in full.

Criteria it does not meet

  • AI-driven autonomy

    Not met

Copes with unscripted variation within a task: it perceives what is actually there and adapts, rather than replaying a fixed motion sequence. How a task is started is not part of this test.

No vendor statement found describing the underlying model (LLM/VLA/ learned policy) or how tasks are given; CES/newsroom material is capability-and-spec focused, not control-approach focused. A gate that cannot be evidenced does not pass.

Evidence:no source: nothing was found either way

  • Credible home path

    Not met

Targets domestic use, and has a public price, preorder or announced release window. Pure research demos are excluded.

No launch date, price or market information appears in LG's own material eight months after CES. Korean press (August 2026) reports a Tennessee factory deployment first, with homes "thereafter", and independent IFA 2026 coverage (September) describes CLOiD presented as part of an "AI Orchestra" home-automation system rather than as a standalone manipulating robot. Over the year, LG's framing has moved away from a consumer manipulating robot rather than toward one.

Criteria it does meet

Stated as plainly as the ones above. These are not consolation: they are part of the record, and on some of these pages the evidence here is stronger than anything in the catalogue.

  • Multi-task by design

    Met

Performs two or more distinct household task types. Not a single-purpose appliance, and not one task described several ways.

Vendor material describes refrigerator retrieval, oven use and laundry (start, fold, stack) -- multiple distinct types.

    Evidence: 1. LG Electronics

  • Physical manipulation

    Met

Has arms, grippers or manipulators, and can pick up, move or handle objects.

Vendor publishes arm and hand specs directly.

    Evidence: 1. LG Electronics

What would change this

Would qualify if LG states a consumer price, date or region for CLOiD as a manipulating home robot (not the "AI Orchestra" software-only framing), and describes the underlying model or tasking approach.

Records are re-checked as the field moves. A robot that meets all four criteria later moves into the catalogue.
