MW bot
Does not meet 2 of this site’s four inclusion criteria, so it is not in the catalogue.
This is a statement about what this site lists, not about the product. The criteria are deliberately narrow (multi-purpose home robots that physically handle objects and adapt to what they find), and a robot can be excellent and still sit outside them. The criteria in full.
Criteria it does not meet
-
AI-driven autonomy
Not metCopes with unscripted variation within a task: it perceives what is actually there and adapts, rather than replaying a fixed motion sequence. How a task is started is not part of this test.
Independent press (Robotstart, non-vendor) states plainly that the demonstrated MW bot was not running autonomous AI: "今回披露されたMW bot はAIによる自律動作ではなく、デモはテレオペレーション(遠隔操縦)によって 行われた" (the MW bot shown was not AI-driven autonomous operation; the demo was carried out by teleoperation). MW is collecting human-demonstration data through a mirrored teleoperation rig toward a future autonomous capability, which is a roadmap claim rather than a current one. The vendor's "MW Intelligence" layer, described on its technology page, covers house-level sensing and environmental optimisation (occupancy, sleep, temperature), not a manipulation policy for the robot itself, and is otherwise described in general terms ("core intelligence", "dynamically transforms homes") that are not evidence of autonomy on their own. No named model, description of recovery from variation, or generalisation claim was found for the robot's manipulation. The robot currently has no disclosed autonomous capability, and an independent source states the demonstration was teleoperated.

Credible home path
Not metTargets domestic use, and has a public price, preorder or announced release window. Pure research demos are excluded.
The release statement gives 2028 with no month, Japan only, and the robot is not sold as a standalone product: it is bundled into an entire new-build "Living Home" (development sites named: Tokyo, Yokohama, central Fukuoka, Karuizawa, Futtsu). Having to buy a house to get the robot is not a consumer offer for the robot itself, even though the date is more specific than most in this category.

Criteria it does meet
Stated as plainly as the ones above. These are not consolation: they are part of the record, and on some of these pages the evidence here is stronger than anything in the catalogue.
-
Multi-task by design
MetPerforms two or more distinct household task types. Not a single-purpose appliance, and not one task described several ways.
Vendor describes bed-making, dining-table clearing, laundry-folding and grocery put-away (including into the refrigerator) -- four distinct chore types, not one capability applied repeatedly.

-
Physical manipulation
MetHas arms, grippers or manipulators, and can pick up, move or handle objects.
Vendor states the robot carries shopping bags, clothing and rubbish and performs general household handling; press (not vendor) independently describes the robot's hand/joint configuration as matching MW's teleoperated data-collection rig, confirming it has hands capable of grasping rather than being a mover-only device.

What would change this
Would qualify if MW states a specific autonomous capability for MW bot itself (a named model, or a description of recognising and adapting to actual household conditions rather than running teleoperated or pre-scripted motions), and sells the robot on a real date at a defined price independent of buying a house.
Records are re-checked as the field moves. A robot that meets all four criteria later moves into the catalogue.
