The short answer: one robot in this site’s data claims to look after pets (feeding them, giving them water, cleaning the litter box and playing with them), and it is sold only in mainland China. It has not been announced for any other market this site tracks.
This site has not tested any robot. Everything below comes from what vendors and the press have published, labelled by how well it is established.
What the task involves
Pet care for a robot means routine physical jobs (putting out food and water, cleaning a litter box) plus play. Single-purpose pet appliances are out of scope for this site. This page covers robots that do pet care as one of several household tasks, using arms or grippers.
Only one robot in this site’s data makes a pet-care claim, so this page is short and does not go further than that claim supports.
Which robots attempt it
On sale in mainland China only
- Futuring 2 (Futuring Robot): the vendor says it automatically dispenses food and water for pets, cleans litter boxes, and plays with pets, for example with a laser pointer, including remote interactive play while nobody is at home. Shipped, according to the vendor: customers are using the robot for this. The robot has been rented to several hundred households and is now sold from CNY 36,000.
Several other robots tidy pet toys as part of general tidying; see Tidying up.
What a buyer should realistically expect today
If you are outside mainland China, there is no multi-purpose home robot with a pet-care claim you can buy. This page will grow as more robots make the claim.
